MASERATI IN THE NEWS

Former Cadillac Chief to Head Maserati North America

Mark McNabb, who announced his resignation from GM last week, will head Maserati North America, Automotive News reports, citing Italian and U.S. sources. He will fill the shoes of Marti Eulberg, who left the position after less than a year in charge. Maserati has not commented on the hiring.

At the helm of Maserati's largest market, McNabb faces sales results 57.7% off those of last year. Globally, Maserati's first quarter sales total 1157 units, almost half of what the company sold in the first quarter of 2008.

McNabb's resignation from GM is official on June 1, when current GM premium channel General Sales Manager Stephen J. Hill takes the position. McNabb resigned within 13 months of joining General Motors, where he oversaw Cadillac, Hummer, and Saab.

McNabb started his career at Nissan North America, where after 20 years he became senior vice president of sales and marketing. In 2005, he left to join Mercedes-Benz USA as vice president of sales, and in June 2007 returned to Nissan before ending up at GM.
