Many thanks go out to Larry and Patti Ruben for organizing this year’s spectacular event in Oregon. A great time was had by all in attendance. We had a good showing of Maseratis, with a few Ferraris and others thrown in.
It must be said, the organizer and Club President need to be more event-appropriate. Their chariots were a Corvette and Mini-rati, respectively. What is up with that!?
The highlight of the event were the routes Larry picked out for touring. We were treated to some stunning scenery both days. First, we drove up to Crater Lake for a tasty lunch. We were treated to some spirited driving – a little too spirited for some (Gene) – on both the twisties through the forest, as well as some long straight stretches, where we were able to let the Masers stretch their legs. The next day we enjoyed the incredibly picturesque countryside, ending up at Grant’s Pass, where we capped the long weekend off with a Rogue Riverboat ride through Hellsgate Canyon.
To sum it up, if you live on the West Coast and missed this one, you missed a great event. Thank you again to Larry and Patti Ruben. We even got hats to commemorate the event. The bar has been set!
